KBLMT Comment Period Is Now Open!

KENTUCKY BOARD OF LICENSURE
COMMENT PERIOD ON PROPOSED REGULATIONS IS NOW OPEN!

Since HB79 passed in March, KBLMT (Kentucky Board of Licensure for Massage Therapy) members and AMTA GR representatives have been working diligently to revise the regulations to reflect the legislative changes. This process needs input from LMTs. Please view the proposed changes on the KBLMT website at: bmt.ky.gov. Scroll down to the lower right hand corner of the first page. Click on “Proposed Administrative Changes”. The changes will be there for you to review.

The next step is a public comment period. This period will run from now until November 30, 2021 at midnight. A public hearing is scheduled on November 29 for people to attend and give their comments verbally, but they have to request to do so 5 work days before November 29, which is November 18.  If they don’t, the hearing is cancelled. The meeting can be attended in person or by Zoom. The link for the meeting and KBLMT address can be found to the right of each regulation on the KBLMT website. It’s labeled “Public Comment Meeting Notice”. There is also a link to Ms. Boggs email to post your comments and intention to attend the meeting. Only comments about the regulations that are being changed and the proposed changes will be accepted now.  Comments about statutes are not going to be considered in board discussion at this time.

Please send email requests to attend the public hearing and comments about the proposed regs to:
Leah Cooper Boggs, General Counsel
Department of Professional Licensing

This is your chance to have a voice and be informed regarding the changes we’ve worked hard to realize. We look forward to your input. Do not procrastinate, the state deadlines are firm!

Thank you,

Ann E. Boone, LMT
